Gift Type Life of Service Gift

I’m glad to point my CZI Life of Service donation to the Ecumenial Hunger Progaram, and our neighbors in the Bay Area. One of the things I appreciate most about working at CZI is feeling connected to the other initiatives’s work. Science can seem slow, and the immediacy of CZI’s work in the community keeps my spirits up. During a CZI Community group organized volunteer outing, I went to the Ecumenical Hunger Program in East Palo Alto, which provides food, supplies, and support services to families in need.

I was inspired by Nevida Butler, who directed the EHP for nearly 30 years before retiring a few years ago. When I told her who we were, she smiled and said that science is also needed to help those families!
