To extend the open source Bokeh library to cover streaming gridded visualizations for bioscience applications that currently require expensive proprietary tools.
Project
Bokeh has become one of the most popular open source solutions for creating interactive, browser-based visualizations from complex datasets. However, there are still important areas of biomedical science where researchers and practitioners have to resort to expensive and proprietary software tied to a particular desktop operating system (OS) configuration. This project will improve Bokeh’s underlying gridded-data support to make it more competitive with commercial and OS-specific tools, as well as providing extensive bioscience examples to support researchers.
