A Multimodal Strategy for a Single Cell Atlas of the Human Spinal Cord

Focus Central Nervous System
Method Single Cell Transcriptomics, Spatial Genomics

Project Summary

This network seeks to continue their development and implementation of a multimodal single cell sequencing strategy to determine cellular diversity within the human spinal cord.

Results & Resources

Building an atlas of the human spinal cord required new tools to integrate multimodal data. This group focused on developing techniques for spinal cord resections and processing. They further developed BarDensr to meet the demand of high spatial density of transcription. BarDensr deconvolutes RNA signal mixing present in densely labeled areas of spatial transcriptomic images to identify cells and map their location in the human spinal cord.
