Project Goal
To develop UCSC Xena, a single-cell browser, to support visualization and exploration of the Human Cell Atlas data.
Results & Resources
The Zhu lab developed UCSC Xena, a browser that incorporates single-cell data and high performance to handle the growing amount of available single-cell data. They optimized the browser to support spreadsheet and heatmap types of visualizations at a scale of one million cells. The Xena data hub contains single-cell RNA-seq data from the Human Cell Atlas and other open publications. The source code is openly available.
