Beep Saúde Secures New Funding to Expand Access to High-Quality Healthcare in Brazil

Series C raise marks CZI’s first impact investment in a healthcare startup

Beep Saúde, the leading in-home health startup in Brazil, this month announced a Series C investment co-led by existing investor Bradesco and new investor the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI). The round also included the participation of existing investors DNA Capital, Valor Capital, and David Velez, founder and CEO of Nubank. This capital will enable the company to accelerate growth in its in-home vaccine and diagnostic businesses. The investment also reflects an increase in valuation from the Company’s Series B fundraise in April 2021 in recognition of Beep’s strong growth since its last round.

“This is an important step in Beep’s journey towards our mission of bringing the best experiences in health services to all of Brazil. We want to be a reference for the Brazilian family as the “everything clinic”, offering vaccines, laboratory tests, and many other services that lie ahead”, said Dr. Vander Corteze, founder and CEO of Beep. “Given the scarcity of investments into startups in 2022, we are particularly proud that our vision is resonating with both new and existing investors,” added Corteze.

Founded in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Beep offers in-home vaccinations and diagnostic exams. Over 5 million people can use Beep’s services without any additional expense via the Company’s 40 accredited health insurance partners. Today, Beep has more than one thousand employees, operates in six states and more than 150 cities, and has become the leading provider of in-home healthcare in Brazil.

Beep represents CZI’s first impact investment in healthcare. CZI’s Kevin Shellito will join the Board as an observer.

“Our Ventures team is particularly excited about Beep’s potential to leverage technology to equitably expand access to high quality healthcare, consistent with CZI’s mission to build a more inclusive, just and healthy future for everyone,” said Vivian Wu, Managing Partner of Ventures at CZI. “It’s impressive to see Beep’s focus on nurse training and quality, and it’s clear that the Company has been able to deliver an experience that is loved by patients.”

Brazilian families with infants and small children were early and enthusiastic adopters of Beep’s industry-leading innovative approach, which brings affordable healthcare into the home and makes it easier to keep up with preventative care services. Beep’s portfolio of services has expanded to also include diagnostic exams, enabling patients – including seniors and others who are medically vulnerable – to get critical tests without having to go to a lab or testing facility.

Beep is consistently recognized by both patients and providers for its patient-centric approach, posting industry leading Net Promoter Scores. Beep was named one of KPMG’s Emerging Giants and 100 Startups to Watch. In addition, Corteze was named to the list of Endeavor Outliers Entrepreneurs.
