Project
Dissecting the Genetic Basis for Tissue Composition and Gene Regulation
Focus
Multiple Organs
Method
Epigenetic Sequencing, Single Cell Transcriptomics
Project Summary
This project will identify genetic variants that alter the frequency of cell types within human tissues or modulate gene expression or chromatin accessibility within those cell types.
Results & Resources
This group published two papers exploring the fetal gene expression and fetal chromatin accessibility of the heart, lung, liver, pancreas, and spleen. They generated six datasets with gene expression and chromatin accessibility across five model organisms. They are optimizing a new ATAC-sequencing pipeline and have published a protocol on this pipeline.
