Improving Plugins for Manual Alignment and Segmentation

This project will support maintenance and improvement work for two existing napari plugins, affinder and zarpaint. affinder is a plugin to register pairs of images using manual keypoints, while zarpaint allows users to view and edit a segmentation layer saved in zarr format. The plugins build off napari’s strengths to allow users to perform steps that have traditionally been difficult to fully automate in image analysis, particularly image analysis in Python.

This project will fulfill the need to distribute tools to biologist collaborators. Each tool fills a niche in scientific Python for manual input and visualization to traditionally finicky, parameter-sensitive processes (alignment and segmentation).
