Project
Democratizing Microscopy Across Brazil
Award
Expanding Global Access to Bioimaging
Project Summary
Intravital microscopy (IVM) is a powerful tool that allows researchers to visualize dynamics of biological phenomena in vivo at single-cell resolution. Widespread use of IVM is hindered by the lack of access to suitable equipment and unfamiliarity with the technique. Development of sophisticated microscopy systems has brought the assumption that IVM is unattainable, especially in regions with low funding for science.
This team will use low-cost solutions and minor adjustments to the microscope equipment to improve access to imaging technology across the country.
