Partnering with Ravenswood City School District and Redwood City School District

While our work in education may span the globe, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative has a deep, long-lasting commitment to unlocking human potential in the Bay Area—a region that MarkPriscilla and our team call home. Opportunity in the area remains unequal and too many schools are underfunded. That’s why we’re thrilled to partner with Ravenswood City School District and Redwood City School District this fall to bring additional resources to students in local classrooms to help make this school year a success.

Here’s how this partnership works: we are teaming up with ClassWallet to give every classroom teacher at Ravenswood City School District and Redwood City School District $100 to purchase any school supply they need from more than 45 vendors. We know that each year teachers spend their own money on supplies for their classrooms, and we are excited to help offset their spending through this partnership. Principals will also get $7,500 to use towards student supports, teacher professional development, community engagement initiatives or parent-focused programs.

Our goal is to help ensure teachers start the school year with the resources they need to engage their students and inspire them to learn, discover and grow in new ways.
