The organizations I selected focus on three areas that are important to me. I support the Bail Project because I believe the U.S. cash bail system is unfair and we need to do what we can to make it more just. I chose to support the Berkeley Repertory Theater because I believe we need to help preserve the unique cultural legacy of the Berkeley Repertory in our community. Lastly, I decided to support the organization Nuva Ukraine. I was born and spent my childhood and early youth in Ukraine. The situation in the country is difficult, and I try to help as much as I can.
I chose to support the Berkeley Repertory Theater because I believe we need to help preserve the unique cultural legacy of the Berkeley Repertory in our community.
At CZI my work is to accelerate science by creating tools for scientists. Outside of CZI, I contribute open source tools for scientists. I am a president of TeX Users Group, a non-profit dedicated to supporting scientific publishing tools. I also authored and maintain several open source projects.
