For my Life of Service donations, I selected three organizations that are important to me. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to promote the work that Life Wire is doing. The stability and freedom that I have in my life is something that I want to help other women and families achieve. My heart goes out to all the women and families who are looking to feel safe again.
My family recently moved to Oregon from California. When I was looking for organizations where I can share my Life of Service funds, I was looking for local emergency shelters such as Raphael House of Portland. I want to support these brave survivors on their journey towards healing so they can start their new life.
I recently had my first child, and I know that I am fortunate to be able to provide him nutritious meals everyday. Many low income children depend on the federally sponsored free school lunch for satisfying meals during school days. This organization, Portland Backpack, is serving kids who are at risk of hunger by providing food for weekends when food insecurity is highest.

As a new mom, I love learning and connecting with other moms within and outside of CZI. Parenting is hard work and could feel isolating sometimes. Being part of the mamas and parent slack channels make me feel that I am part of a community with continuous giving and receiving of knowledge, care, and support to one another.
