Multi-omics Maps of the Human Endometrium Across Diverse Ancestries

Award Ancestry Networks

Project Summary

While recent advances in single-cell genomics have improved our understanding of endometrial cellular heterogeneity, little is known about the composition of cellular networks of endometrium across people of diverse ancestries. This team will develop an ancestrally representative altas with a focus on cellular diversity. The team will use an established tissue biobank of human endometrium from self-reported diverse ancestries containing comprehensive clinical annotation including demographics and comorbidities such as obesity, menstruation, pregnancy history, and socioeconomic parameters. Project members will also conduct additional community engagement efforts aimed at increasing donor participation.

These studies will help define the common and distinct features of human endometrial cellular networks across diverse ancestries and provide an important resource for the scientific community.
