Proposal Summary
To empower the biomedical research community in Latin America by localizing 3D Slicer to Spanish and Portuguese, improving tutorial localization infrastructure, and holding outreach events.
Project
3D Slicer is an open source software platform for medical imaging data analysis, 3D visualization, and image-guided therapy used in clinical research worldwide. However, the platform is only available in English. Building on our current 3D Slicer internationalization effort, this project will localize 3D Slicer for Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking biomedical researchers, develop new infrastructure and software tools for 3D Slicer tutorial workflows, and organize outreach events in Latin America.
