Proposal Summary
This project will solidify the use and future development of the cross-language igraph package to support network analysis in all scientific domains, including biomedical and life sciences.
Project
Graph or network analysis has become increasingly important across all domains of science, from internet search engines through the characterization of connectivity in the brain to cell type annotation in the Human Cell Atlas. The amount of available data for studying these topics has exploded in recent years. A high-performance and flexible graph library, capable of handling millions of nodes and links, is an essential tool for computational analyses. Over the last 15 years, igraph served that purpose for thousands of scholars across the globe.
