The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative Celebrates Four-Year Anniversary with Release of 2019 Annual Letter

Today, we’re celebrating the four-year anniversary of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) with the release of CZI’s 2019 annual letter.

In 2015, Dr. Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg announced their pledge to give away 99% of their wealth, just before their family of two became three. And so CZI was born, and four years later, the organization has grown into a family of hundreds of employees and partners around the world. 

In this year’s annual letter, “The Promise of Family,” Priscilla and Mark reflect on the past 12 months and how CZI’s growing body of work has brought together people with diverse worldviews and experiences to accelerate progress across science, education, criminal justice reform, housing affordability and more.
