The Anchang lab provided an interdisciplinary framework and tools to phenotypically characterize clinical samples in the context of in vitro studies, which could help assess the clinical relevance of various biological processes associated with cancer in future studies. They developed a lung cancer reference map, as well as a new method, TRACER, to statistically distinguish between different trajectories without making any pseudo time assumptions (as described in a preprint).
