Project
Plugin for Fluorescence Unmixing
Award
napari Plugin Accelerator
Project Summary
This project seeks to develop a napari plugin for selection and blind unmixing of overlapping spectral channels by translating PICASSO, an algorithm that minimizes the mutual information between images to subtract spillover from overlapping emission spectra. Currently, there are no napari hub plugins for unmixing images with crosstalk from overlapping emission spectra, background fluorescence, or autofluorescence. By packaging this approach into a napari plugin, this project will enable non-specialists to unmix large image datasets on a single workstation with sufficient memory and a graphics processing unit (GPU).
