Spectral Image Visualization and Analysis
This project will develop a napari plugin, Rainbow, to support a collection of translated algorithms for rendering, unmixing, and classifying spectral microscopy data. Rainbow will be the first open-source spectral visualization and analysis suite intended for use with biological images. By leveraging napari’s intuitive interface, Rainbow will make spectral processing accessible to biologists who need a straightforward tool for analysis and those who require extensibility within the Python ecosystem. By bundling biology-specific algorithms together as a single napari plugin, Rainbow will facilitate experimentation with different spectral analysis methods. Moreover, it will serve as a practical visualization tool for microscope builders who wish to add spectral capabilities to their imaging systems.
