Computational Methods for Single-Cell Analysis of Genetic Effects on Gene Expression

Project Goal

To develop methods for the analysis of individual genetic variation and its effects on gene expression at the single-cell level, considering heterogeneity of genetic effects both within and between cell types.


Results & Resources

This project benchmarked current single-cell expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) analysis approaches to inform the development of Single Cell eQTL Factorization, a probabilistic model that uses factor analysis to jointly build a continuous representation of each cell type and the corresponding eQTL effect sizes of each learned cell type.
