Developing Methodology to Assess Immune Cell Heterogeneity

Focus Immune

Project Goal

To develop methodology and establish protocols to assess immune cell heterogeneity in human peripheral blood, secondary lymphoid organs, and the kidney by single-cell RNA sequencing.

Results & Resources

The Clatworthy lab compared immune cell heterogeneity in secondary lymphoid organs and blood within and between individuals, as well as determined the optimal methods to process and sequence immune cells in the kidney. To that end, they have released two openly available protocols on human kidney tumor dissociation for both single-cell RNA sequencing and flow cytometry. Additionally, they have released a web resource for exploring single-cell RNA sequencing data from fetal and mature human kidneys.
