Enhanced Labeling and Barcode Expression of Virally Infected Cells

To improve the labelling of cells using viral vectors such that anatomical details and barcodes are expressed acutely at supranormal levels using novel RNA polymerases.

The Cepko lab worked to create a system of inducible high-level expression from retroviral vectors using the Nodamura virus (NoV), which has been shown to be able to replicate and produce infectious virus in mammalian cells. They will continue to test whether or not NoV can successfully replicate target RNAs, with results forthcoming.
