Microfluidic Platform for Rapid and Efficient Isolation of Single-Cells From Tissue

Focus Tissue Handling and Processing

Project Goal

To develop an integrated microfluidic device that increases the speed and efficiency at which tissue is broken down into single-cells.

Results & Resources

The Haun lab continued their work towards an integrated microfluidic platform capable of rapidly breaking down human tissues into single-cells, thus enabling subsequent cell-based assays to be performed. During the course of this project, they made substantial progress in developing individual microfluidic device technologies and their integration towards a versatile tissue processing platform. Validation has been performed using kidney, heart, and liver tissues; and further testing is ongoing in the pancreas and other tissues.
