Statistical Analysis and Comprehension of the Human Cell Atlas in R / Bioconductor: Access and Scalable Infrastructure
Focus
Bioconductor
Project Goal
To provide R / Bioconductor software to provide coherent programmatic interface to the HCA, and to enable scalable interactive statistical analysis of single-cell data.
Results & Resources
The Huber lab updated the R/HDF5 interface in Bioconductor, splitting it into two distinct, but inherently linked, R packages. These packages provide the low-level infrastructure upon which many of the single-cell analysis tools within Bioconductor rely. Rhdf5lib wraps the library and provides a convenient and consistent mechanism for R users to install HDF5. The rdhf5 package provides an R analogue to the C API, as well as higher-level functions that present a simplified interface to common operations.
