Project
Improved Direct Electron Detection Camera
Award
Visual Proteomics Imaging
Project Summary
This project will demonstrate a camera that will enable high-resolution, high-throughput cryo-electron tomography and provide a path to make such a camera available to the scientific community. The project will focus on pixel-level improvements to sensitivity, speed, and detector size in the first phase, followed by fabrication and testing of a realistic prototype in the second phase. The team will also develop an engineering roadmap defining the steps towards a broadly available final camera.
