napari-morphodynamics: A Plugin to Quantify Cellular Dynamics

Award napari Plugin Foundation

Project Summary

Morphodynamics analysis is a microscopy-based method where cells imaged over time are segmented and split into small windows, so cell content and displacement can be tracked and jointly analyzed. The team previously developed morphodynamics analysis Python packages in collaboration with cell biologists for segmentation, tracking, windowing, signal extraction, and post-processing, allowing custom definitions of windows to be tracked over time.

The goal of this project is to create a napari plugin that will make these packages more user-friendly and accessible to the cell biology community. This work includes giving access to additional options from base packages, adding quantitative post-processing outputs, and adding comprehensive tests and documentation.
