Accelerating global adoption and technical integration identifiers for research outputs

Project DataCite
DataCite

DataCite was founded in 2009 by non-profit and academic organizations from six countries to elevate the value of data as part of the scholarly record, and to help make it findable and accessible. DataCite does this by providing persistent identifiers (DOIs) for research data and other research outputs. It is a membership-based organization where academic organizations and institutions join DataCite as members to be able to assign DOIs to all their research outputs. DataCite then develops additional services to improve the DOI management experience, enabling DOI connections and sharing within the scholarly ecosystem.
