Achieving Accessibility for UpSet Plots
Project

Funding Cycle

Proposal Summary
To make UpSet plots accessible to low-vision and blind users, and to simplify authoring UpSet plots.
Project
The UpSet visualization technique has become an essential method to visualize set relationships for data with more than three sets. A key challenge for UpSet plots, however, is that they are not accessible in two different ways: they cannot be read by low vision or blind users, and they cannot be created by analysts who don’t write code. This project will work with members of the low-vision and blind community to make UpSet plots accessible, as well as deploy an interactive, web-based version of UpSet accessible to non-coders.
