Proposal Summary

To accelerate single-cell biology methods research and empower their developers with foundational probabilistic AI software.



Pyro is a probabilistic programming language that enables specifying complex, custom statistical models as ordinary Python programs and using scalable algorithms and software from deep learning to fit them to large datasets. This project will fund the hiring of a new software engineer to support the growing community of biomedical researchers and practitioners using Pyro in their work and lower technical barriers to entry for new open source contributors.
