EpiStan: Notebooks and Methods for Disease Modeling in Stan

Project EpiStan
Funding Cycle 5

Proposal Summary

To build a repository of infectious disease models in Stan that will provide researchers with in-depth examples, helping them to draw sound conclusions and make better predictions from their data.

Project

EpiStan

The Stan project is an open source platform for Bayesian modeling and computation, used by statisticians and biostatisticians. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many public health officials needed to become rapidly trained in disease modeling through the Stan project, which led to a collection of collaborations and projects. This proposal will distill the models and lessons learned from these projects into case studies using Jupyter notebooks, Stan, and tools from the Stan ecosystem for inference, analysis, and visualization.
