The CZI Community Fund, Grant Opportunity Supporting San Mateo County Nonprofits, Is Open
Applications can be submitted through 5 p.m. June 6, 2024.
The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) has opened applications for the CZI Community Fund, an annual funding opportunity for organizations that are helping create a more socially and economically just San Mateo County. The Community Fund pairs grants with capacity building to support leadership and organizational development, so that local groups have the resources and tools they need to further their missions and work.
Organizations working across San Mateo County can submit applications for the CZI Community Fund online starting 8 a.m. PT Monday, May 6, 2024. The deadline to submit an application is 5 p.m. PT Thursday, June 6, 2024. The application is also available in Spanish.
Created in 2017, the Community Fund supports organizations across San Mateo County that are increasing access to the building blocks of social and economic well-being — including focus areas like housing, healthcare, education, job and career skills — and other social supports. Through their programs and services, Community Fund partners are galvanizing community voices so that everyone — regardless of their background or income level — has the opportunity to shape their lives and communities.
“By supporting our local ecosystem, we hope to act as changemakers and help build a more equitable, inclusive and just San Mateo County and a better future for our communities,” says Alma Pulido, community affairs program officer at CZI.
The Community Fund offers two-year grants of up to $200,000, so that partners have greater flexibility to address the most urgent needs facing the local community.
CZI will host an informational webinar on May 8, 2024, to answer questions and provide technical assistance to applicants. Register here.
Since its launch, the CZI Community Fund has made grants to more than 170 local organizations. Learn more about the CZI Community Fund, including application criteria and eligibility requirements, at chanzuckerberg.com/community/fund.
