“We believe in a world where every person can thrive with dignity.”
Priscilla Chan
Co-Founder and Co-CEO
We want to help create a future for everyone that is more just, inclusive, and full of opportunity. From supporting common-sense immigration policies to reforming the criminal justice system, we engage in strategic partnerships to help tackle the systemic barriers that hold so many people back. We do this by directly powering the communities we serve, and by learning from and partnering with the organizations and leaders most deeply affected by these challenges.
In order to best empower some of these bodies of work at a critical juncture for reform, we announced $350 million in new commitments to criminal justice reform work and the transition of this portfolio to an independent organization, The Just Trust over the course of 2021. In addition, we invested an additional $100 million over the next three years to support immigration reform efforts through our long-term partner FWD.us.

Criminal Justice Reform
The justice system must be redesigned with community health and safety at its core, rather than incarceration. Through our funding commitments, we support efforts that drive change and build opportunities for those impacted by the justice system.
We believe in an immigration system that keeps families and communities together, fosters smart policies that drive economic growth for all, and supports a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million immigrants without status who call America home.
