Milken Institute, FasterCures

FasterCures, a center of the Milken Institute, is working to build a system that is effective, efficient, and driven by a clear vision: patient needs above all else. They believe that transformative and lifesaving science should be fully realized and that better treatments should be delivered to the people who need them.

FastersCures has a long-established history of providing capacity building support to the patient organization community and the larger set of biomedical research and development (R&D) stakeholders over the course of its existence. Starting in 2005, FasterCures established the Research Acceleration and Innovation Network (TRAIN), an affinity network of foundations interested in taking a more strategic and entrepreneurial approach to funding and supporting medical research.

The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative is supporting the FasterCures TRAIN program to strengthen its community and potential for impactful collective advocacy through expanded outreach, relationship-building, and programming on the behalf of the broader rare disease community.
